Not guesswork. Peer-reviewed biomechanics.
Every score, drill, and red flag is built on peer-reviewed studies from the institutions that define modern sports science.
Built on golf biomechanics research
The institutions that define modern golf science have published the foundational swing biomechanics literature for decades. GolfCheck's scoring engine draws on the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) 3D motion database, Cheetham's kinematic-sequence research, Novosel's 3:1 tempo work, and Zheng's X-factor studies — the same science used by tour coaches and biomechanists.
Why this matters
Most golfers who end up with chronic lower-back, lead-wrist, or elbow pain had mechanical warning signs long before — early extension, reverse spine angle, S-posture, and casting. Research lets us flag those patterns before they become injuries. Every red flag in GolfCheck maps back to a published study and an age-appropriate safe range.
Scoring is age- and club-specific. A junior with 35° of hip-shoulder separation is excellent for their age. A college player at the same number is leaving distance on the table. We score what's good for you, not what's good for a tour pro.
Shot-specific, not recycled
A putting stroke is not a half-speed full swing, and a chip is not a small drive. Each is a fundamentally different motion — different tempo, different arc, different load distribution. We use dedicated reference ranges for full swing, putting, and chipping, plus driver/iron/wedge adjustments. No shortcuts.
Benchmarked against tour-level data
Academic studies tell us what mechanics are safe and efficient. Tour data tells us what the top of the game actually looks like. GolfCheck scores your tempo, kinematic sequence, X-factor, and clubhead speed against tour-level reference ranges — so you see exactly where your swing stands, not just whether it "looks" right.
Every metric you post rolls up into a percentile against your age group and tour-level targets. A junior with a 3.1:1 tempo and a clean kinematic sequence isn't just "good" — they're scoring like a player far above their level, and we show you exactly where the next gain comes from.
